My 10th grade students need more access to technology in order to be academically successful in Social Studies World History classroom! They are hardworking and determined, but insufficient technology in the classroom limits how successful they can be.
I teach at a public charter school that has the primary objective of preparing students to be college ready.
However, because many of my students live beneath the poverty line, a majority of their families cannot purchase necessary items needed to successfully complete course requirements. And a significant lack my students have is access to a computer or laptop. This greatly affects how academically successful many of my students can be in my sSocial Studies World History course. But, I believe the introduction of new resources, such as an ASUS Chromebook, can change this.
My Project
My 10th grade students need an in-class ASUS Chromebook and console license so that they will be able to successfully complete major assignments within my Social Studies World History course. Specifically, this ASUS Chromebook will be used to complete all types of major class assignments, ranging from research to presentations, necessary to meet college-prep social studies course standards. In addition, this ASUS Chromebook laptop will act as a vital piece of technology that will empower them and promote academic success, while also assisting my students' journey towards college and a better life.
Your donation matters!
It matters to my students and their futures. This ASUS Chromebook will really make a difference in my Social Studies World History classroom by providing my students with a tool they need to meet the academic demands and standards of this 10th grade course. And, it will also be beneficial in developing them as tech savvy critical thinkers headed towards college as well.
