This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My Language Arts classes consist of 25 students in grades 5-8. My students are exceptional students who work hard to gain the most out of their literacy experiences. My students have ADHD and Autism but are outstanding learners and these materials would help them continue their goal to enhance their literary experiences. I love to engage them in reading and writing activities that are fun and engaging. They would love this project and would do well with it and have fun in the process!

My Project

I would like to teach a Christmas Carol this holiday season to my middle school students. Students will learn about a classic novel, the time period, and will be able to compare the book to the movie. I hope to provide them with fun, engaging activities in the process. We would read "A Christmas Carol" and complete some activities about the characters and comprehension questions then students would watch the movie to compare and contrast the book to the movie and write a compare contrast essay. The "From Rags to Riches" book would help give them background information about Charles Dickens.
