My students need books about real people who can inspire them and be good role models for them, especially for boys.
The students in my third-grade class are a mix of creativity and curiousity with a dash of individuality added into the room. They love to be challenged, and their faces light up when I announce a new project. I am inspired as a teacher when I see their enthusiam when art, technology, or group work is incorported into our learning.
Even though my students are grateful for all we have, the lack of resources they have available at home hinders learning.
My students love learning anything new, especially when they are engagd in technology, and they beam with pride as we display their work throughout our hallway.
My students love to read - especially biographies. I picked these novels because children need to see what they can become once they make up their mind and understand that success does not come easy.
Many of my students do not have access to books at home.
I believe that young people need good role models and real-life people to look up to. The novels will be utilized in literature circles. Students may pick books of their choice. They will be placed in groups, and they will read and discuss together using the reading strategies that we learn in reading class.
My goal is for my students to get "hooked" and want to turn the page!
