This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my students and their ambitions! They never want to miss a beat! They really do want to learn the math content that I am teaching them-- BUT THEY ALSO DON'T WANT TO MISS THE LATEST TRENDING TIKTOKS! Over the past few months, we have finally had a taste of a "normal" school year (being in-person). But now, students just can't seem to let go of their cell phones! Over the year and a half of Remote Learning, students have relied on technology and become addicted to scrolling through social media.

This phone locker will remind students that our classroom is a cell phone-free zone, where learning must come first!

Students will be expected to lock up their phones inside the lockers upon arrival to the classroom. They will not be allowed to use their cell phones while instructional time is going on. A cell phone-free zone is a truly important facet of learning.
