This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I serve a diverse group of students with mixed interests. As the librarian, it is my job to promote and instill in them a love for literature and reading. From inquiry learning to assignment support, students and teachers come to me for their various needs. I'm happy to be of service!

My Project

Help me put together a catalog station for our school library. We went from a 9-12 to a 7-12 grade school this year. We are busier than ever. Our students went without a library for a while, and I’ve been trying to bring awareness as I push to reinstate library services. It’s amazing to see our scholars be so enthusiastic about reading and obtaining their books. So far I am the only person manning the library. Between responding to inquiries and loaning out materials, things can get pretty hectic.

The catalog station will allow students to independently search our catalog, locate in-house library materials, and/or request items from partnering libraries within our region.

This station will serve as a great discovery tool in our library. Our students, in turn, will initiate their own learning, and develop a sense of agency.
