This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach middle and high school band in a high-needs community. The school district is very small and in an urban setting. Our students all receive free lunch and breakfast. Even though the school and community have financial difficulties, my students come to school eager and ready to learn. The financial hardships do not interfere with their desire to learn and be the best they can be.
I am very fortunate to teach in a district where the students want to excel and work very hard.
My Project
I am requesting a new case for a baritone saxophone. The baritone saxophone I have was just refurbished and looks great. The downside is, I don't have a working case for the instrument.
I have a baritone saxophone that needs a case so that it can be stored and transported properly.
The case is an important part of the instrument. It keeps the instrument safe while in storage. This new case will help a student take the instrument back and forth from school so they can practice at home.
Your donation will help keep my refurbished baritone saxophone safe and protected. My bari sax student will be thrilled to be able to take home the instrument to practice!
