My Students
I teach 2nd graders and I love it! My students are great workers with great imaginations. I work at a Title One school with 85% of the students qualifying for free lunch and most come from broken homes. They see the classroom as a safe place and I love making it our own. I have students who prefer to sit on the floor when reading or working. This allows them to be better learners and I get a more attentive group of students. Creativity is what our classroom consists of during the school year.
My Project
We are needing a rug for our classroom. I allow my students to sit where they are most comfortable to get their brains flowing with ideas to do their work. I also like to have them gather close to me when I am starting to teach a new lesson. I have a new classroom this year and would like a nice size rug for my students. This will allow my students to be comfortable during whole group learning and independent learning. If they are comfortable they will be less distracted and more concentrated on what they need to learn during the year.
