This year is my first year teaching in Kindergarten. I am very lucky to have a very diverse group of students in terms of their academics and also personalities. They are all very sweet, they are caring and they are very fun to talk to. As we begin our journey together with the new academic year, we are working very hard on learning our classroom rules and routines. We have established them, we can recite them at this point, and we are collectively experiencing what it looks like and feels like to actually follow those rules.
My students come from similar backgrounds but they are very different and all together they make my group a fantastic one!
I cannot wait to see all the things that we will accomplish together as the year goes on!
Having this wonderful classroom carpet will make it easier for my students to find their spots when I call them over to join me for whole-group learning; each one of the colorful circles on the carpet will assigned to one student and that will be their carpet spot. It will also be easier for them to be able to stay on one spot while we learn. This will keep boys and girls from moving as much and being a distraction to others.
It will also be more comfortable for students to sit on the carpet rather than on the floor.
