Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My group of kiddos are so eager, hardworking and determined to accomplish any goal set before them. In fact, they have worked so hard, that I have to be extremely creative in order to continue the push to the next level.
All expectations will be met by these students!
They know the seriousness of hard work. For that reason, and many others, can I firmly state that this project will NOT go to waste. I truly believe in each and every one.
My Project
Now, to get out of this one! I have had the privilege of looping up with my students since third grade. They will be the big 5th graders next year! We NEVER stop learning! Next project…FLEXIBLE SEATING! It started out as a persuasive writing. It's become a hot topic, since then. Conformity. That will take you nowhere. Now they know that the idea of flexible seating exists. These kids are doing what they can to bring about a change in their learning environment-reaching out to me as their voice. What have I done?

I grew up in hard chairs with connected desks, lined in rows- I turned out just fine. Then, I thought about my favorite spot to work after school. Guess what? I have many- I am all over the place and I’m an adult. If I had to sit at my desk at all times, I would dread lesson planning so much, that I would teach right out of the book. Today, I began writing on my bedroom floor and later moved to my bed (on a Saturday morning). Imagine the outcome of giving students the freedom to choose their best learning spot(s). It will take their learning to the next level, with ease.
It becomes a challenge when you push students to their limit and then expect them to grow even more, three months later. I need help fast! We are born as seeds in this world and our environment determines our growth. They say that having worms in your garden is a sign of healthy soil. I might as well make use of those worms I let out!
