Currently our school does not have a camera for every grade level and borrowing a camera from a different grade can be difficult. I am constantly missing out on opportunities to record student work. I would love a camera for our room so we never miss documenting our learning fun!
This is my first year teaching kindergarten and I LOVE it!
My students are AMAZING and deserve the very best! They are fun, creative, energetic, and I love to showcase their spectacular work. Having a digital camera in our classroom would not only be beneficial for documenting student achievement but also for building their self esteem. I have observed just having a camera around is such a motivation for students to work hard and do their best.
My Project
This camera will be used to document student achievement and success. Kindergarten activities are most often hands-on and require students using manipulatives. Recording student success in a traditional way is often difficult. Documenting student achievement will help build their self esteem and encourage students to work hard. This will also be a motivational tool to do their best work so it can be captured by the camera. It will also help parents to see their child's achievement and growth throughout the year.
Kindergarten is full of learning experiences that are hands-on and cannot be recorded by pencil and paper assessments.
This camera is necessary for recording data for student portfolios. Having a digital camera in our classroom would not only be beneficial for documenting student achievement but also for building their self esteem. Pictures taken with this camera will be put in students portfolios and be posted on our starfish bulletin !
