Meet my amazing kindergartners! They are a diverse group of students, representing many cultures, languages, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
My kids are curious and energetic and ready to learn to be the best students they can be!
As we make our way through our first year in school, we are learning and practicing three Core Values: be safe, be kind, and be responsible. All my students are working hard, each day, to implement these core values into our daily classroom routines.
My Project
All students experience stress and anxiety and need a quiet place to calm down.
With the many demands of school, sports, and home life, our students experience high levels of anxiety and stress.
This affects their ability to concentrate and learn. Sometimes they just need a quiet place to get away for a while.
Using sensory tools, such as building toys, puzzles, fidgets and stress toys can help them take their mind off situations that are bothering them. They can take some time away from learning, get centered and calm, and then return, hopefully more focused.
I would like to provide my students with a comfortable, quiet place, to take a break, take their mind off things, and calm down.
