My students are the most humble, grateful, and friendliest people I know! Whether it is seeing their work displayed in the classroom, seeing a new book in our class library, or just getting a sticker at the end of the day, my students are always quick to notice and are so thankful! For many of them, school is their safe space where they can count on having a routine, having fun, learning something new every day, and always being greeted at the door with a smile.
My Project
Picture a Kindergarten classroom. It may be your old Kindergarten classroom or your child's current Kindergarten classroom. What is something unique in that classroom that you may not see in other grades? Some teachers call them burrows, others call them mailboxes, but the word we are all familiar with is Cubbies! This method of organizing student work is something many former five-year-olds remember from their childhood.
By donating to this project, you are giving a Kindergartner the opportunity to have their very own little box to store their precious work in!
This provides students with responsibility and ensures that each student is taking home the right materials and papers! I have also found that Kindergarten students love being responsible for their own 'things' in the classroom. Cubbies are truly a storage solution for Kindergarten, and would make organizing our personal materials so much easier!
