Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at an amazing school as a 5th grade teacher. Our mission statement is “Inspiring kind leaders; preparing for bright futures.”
Our school is made up of a variety of students, including many English Language Learners.
It is our job to help them find their voice and be ready for their future. In my classroom, I am hoping to create a flexible, collaborative learning environment where students can feel comfortable to express themselves and can be successful every day. I'm hoping my students can learn many things and can challenge and push themselves beyond their potential!
My Project
We have been working so hard this year during our Reading Workshop time. Fifth graders are at an amazing age where they can be sucked into a good book and really start to understand how it feels to just never put down a good book.
Reading is the key to success in Reading Workshop.
Without good books in their hands, students are not able to make good choices and engage themselves in independent reading and their personal reading goals. Please help our class grow their classroom library. This will have a direct impact on students and our literacy environment for years to come.
