A Bright Light Amidst the Covid Chaos!

Help me give my students science and math materials they can use throughout the year, as well as items for our class store and our semester celebration, Harry Potter Day.

My Students

Covid has been a strain on everyone, particularly elementary school students. My students have shown tenacity in this trying time.

In my class, collaboration elevates the learning of every student.

Social learning can enhance students' interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate their ideas, and provide opportunities to lead.

This is a class of mixed learning levels. Collaborative learning helps to support emerging learners and solidifies concepts in advanced learners. Students beam with pride when they are able to help their classmates learn new concepts.

My Project

These last two years of education have been a tough time for students. Because of missed school days, some students feel defeated before they even begin. Others think hanging out at home sounds like a better idea. Many students lack the motivation and self-esteem to put forth their best efforts.

I want my classroom to be the place to buoy up my students.

For the first half of the year, students earn Galleons by showing responsibility. Students can then spend their Galleons on our Harry Potter Day to attend classes, including Potions—where they participate in some awesome science experiments. I will use many of these items for years to come as our team creates opportunities for students to have this "magical" educational experience.

My classroom is a positive place of learning and growth, where students feel supported, loved, and are willing to share their mistakes to help others grow. Much of this atmosphere is created through group learning experiences and activities. Please help me to provide the math and science materials needed.
