This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students have limited opportunities in experiencing real world activities. Many of our students struggle with decoding words and phonics skills. I would like to create an inviting learning atmosphere in our school library. Our neighborhood has hard-working families. Our school is the hub for the community and families who depend on our services. We are always creating out-of-the-box activities. We strive to support parent and student engagement activities as an ongoing school year goal. Students and families are intricate stakeholders in helping our school thrive successfully. My students are always ready to learn in different ways.
My Project
Imagine walking into a colorful, bright and inviting space. Learning doesn’t start with curriculum alone. An inviting space in our media center, will encourage students to want to come to our school library. A special spot where our students can stretch out on the carpet with soft bright chairs to read their books. Many of our students only opportunity to read is at school. I want to make it as inviting as I can, so students are excited about the learning space. Changing the environment will help our students feel excited about visiting our school’ library and reading awesome books.
