Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I will be moving from teaching a 1/2 combo to a 3/4 combo. I teach at a school where many students come from a variety of backgrounds including students who are from Filipino, Chinese, and Vietnamese backgrounds as well as those who speak Spanish or Arabic as their Home language. I would like to reorganize my classroom library to make it middle elementary friendly.

I currently have a mixture of different colored bins for my books but would like to have a collection of baskets that would match in a neutral color.

I would also like a carpet and sorting area for students to read on.

My Project

Please consider taking the time to assist me in updating my classroom library. I’m changing grades next year and this project would enable me to update the baskets in my classroom library so that they would all be one color as opposed to a mix of differing bright colors that don’t really match.

Going from primary to intermediate the needs of my students and their reading needs will change.

Since the vast majority of them will be reading chapter books I will need to change the look of my classroom library to make it more inviting and engaging.

The carpet and baskets would allow me to do that.
