Ms. Olson from Sioux City IA is requesting Books through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

A Book Never Runs Out of Batteries!

My students need the following books because they instill the love of reading. We spend time each day sharing the love of good books. These are some of the books we read throughout the year!

My Students

I get to spend my days with 25 caring, energetic, and silly 5th-grade students. My students love reading books and we use them for teaching topics such as perseverance, empathy, and kindness.

We spend our days building community within our classroom while focusing on the basics - reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

Every student is capable of success!

Our school is located in an urban school district, we have about 350 students, and we are 100% free and reduced lunch.

My Project

Every day we spend time sharing the love of good books! My kids beg me to keep reading and often ask if they can borrow my book. Mr. Terupt Falls Again, Out of My Mind, On My Honor are just some of the classroom books that we read. If each student had their own copy they could follow along to fluent reading and increase their own reading fluency and comprehension.

The books that I have chosen are books that my students have fallen in love with year after year.

I would love to have class sets of each book as it would greatly benefit the readers in my room!
