Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have 140 students eager to learn Spanish. I teach in a small community in San Diego county. My awesome students are monolingual English speakers who are in a journey to acquire a new language and in the process widen their horizons about the world around them through multicultural learning.

This is a 2nd year Spanish class; and after one year of strong academic growth these kids are ready for more.

In this class they will widen their understanding of the world through multicultural learning.

My Project

In a global world students in the United States need to be bilingual in order to be competitive in an international work force. Reading is the most efficient to acquire a new language.

My goal this year is that my students will read 8 novels in Spanish.

They are specifically designed for second language learning. My students are now capable of independent and small group reading. We will be using this books every day rotating the tittles so that each student will be reading 4 of these books this year. Your donation will get us to 8 books per student.
