I am fortunate enough to teach an amazing group of middle school students in a self-contained classroom. As a special education teacher, I get to work with my students for several years which allows me to build relationships with them and their families. My students come to school every day and face significant challenges.
Along with autism and learning disabilities, my students typically have significant needs in language and communication skills, behavior management, and social skills.
Despite their struggles, they are hard workers who come to school every day with a smile on their face. They deserve the best!
My Project
A few months ago, I had a Donors Choose project funded and I was able to update my classroom library. My students have been absolutely loving those books -- and now it's time to find some new favorites!
My students are voracious readers who choose to grab a book from our classroom library whenever they have a free moment.
Most of my students are struggling readers, so it's very important to have books at their level for them to enjoy. I have chosen series that each one of my students enjoys, with the hopes that they will continue to enjoy reading. Please help me fill my classroom library with tried and true books that my students love!
