Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of my students come from single parent homes, some have been homeless, yet this does not stop them from possessing a strong desire to learn. Our school is a Title 1 school with 96% of students on free or reduced lunch, yet you would never know this from the attitude and strong spirt of the students.
We are a college-bound environment, all students are working towards the goal of going to college with support and help from all staff.
My Project
My students need a library that has high quality books, books that not only are of high interest but also books that are essential to their development as students. Reading is the foundation of a solid education. Unfortunately many of my students don't have access to books at home.
These wonderful books will inspire and empower my students to learn.
In our school, reading is a skill that is stressed and it is understood by our students that a good reader is a life long learner. My students will be so inspired by these books and it will bring the subjects to life.
