Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a low-income Title I school where the students need supplies and materials. My class works hard with what they have and they appreciate everything they are given. My students are enthusiastic learners who love to read. My students also love to play outside together. We love reading books together as a class. My students like to learn through technology use and they are creative with new technology. I want to continue to support their love for learning.
My Project
My class is in need of some really high-interest book sets for small group reading. They love getting lost in books and beg me to read to them every single day. We have read most of the book sets our school has available and would love more book sets to keep the kids interested in reading.
This is a low-income school and the kids here appreciate every book that they get to read.
I would use Junie B Jones, In The Dinosaurs paw, Fourth Grade Rats, and the other book sets to work on fluency, comprehension, and for fun on a daily basis in a one-on-one or small group setting. We would love to have more of a variety of books available.
