My Students

My students are a diverse group of children from a rural area in N.C. Most are of lower socioeconomic status. They are enthusiastic and ready to learn! They thrive on a schedule and organization. I want to be able to create a very nurturing environment that they can work well in while feeling comfortable. This is a first grade classroom that spends most of the day in one classroom. These items will help my students successfully complete their days in first grade. These children want to excel in reading and having headphones that they can listen to guided stories with would be a tremendous help. They would be able to follow along and read. It would add another level of learning to my class.

My Project

These headphones and storage center will help my children not only be able to read aloud but be read too. You can never have too many options when it comes to books and learning. These children will have a chance to read with me and then go to a center where they can be read too or where they listen to a story of their choosing. These headphones need a station in order to keep them organized in order to not cause problems with the cords and the headphones messing up. This would be a great addition to my first grade classroom.
