This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a very small, rural town. I have a very diverse group of students. My students are diverse in my many ways. Not only are they diverse by ethnicity, I also have several students with learning impairments. I want my students to have the best experience in 2nd grade and get the best education possible. At our school, funds are limited and a lot of we give comes from own pockets. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

My Project

I am requesting new tables for my classroom. Currently, my students have desks but they are all different sizes and some students cannot sit comfortably at their seats. These tables would provide my students with a more comfortable work space. Also, having students sitting together at a table allows for more community building opportunities. Students would be able to work together on projects, activities, and stations. These tables would also allow for a flexible seating option where students do not always have to sit in a chair. These tables would make for a more engaging classroom environment.
