Although my students come from a low income, high poverty neighborhood and face many challenges in life, music class is a place where they often forget about their worries and simply get to be kids. I love seeing these kids sing, move, and express themselves in ways that build self-confidence and positive community with their peers. I love seeing how their creativity can flow through music and how their faces light up after discovering they can sing a song by themselves!
My students have a wide variety of sensory needs, and it is important that they learn to self-regulate. This mini trampoline will allow them to self-regulate while at the same time developing their ability to keep a steady beat.
As the students bounce to the beat, they will be developing their musical skills while at the same time releasing energy, calming their bodies, and self-regulating.
This will enable them to have better focus both physically and emotionally. It will also help them to develop their musical skills in keeping the beat as they bounce to songs, rhymes, and recorded music.
