Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It's a shame that America's favorite pastime isn't introduced to children at a young age. My students have not yet been introduced to the beautiful game of baseball, but it's never too late.
My students are 7th/8th graders in a less fortunate neighborhood who have never been introduced to baseball.
Although very athletic and enthusiastic about sports, these children's families far too often do not have the resources to get supplies that are needed to play (gloves, bats, balls, etc) and have therefore, not been introduced to it.
My Project
Having the proper equipment to introduce baseball/softball to my students will allow them to explore the game and learn valuable life skills that will help them in the world of tomorrow. They will be able to learn and enhance skills such as team work skills and communication skills, as well as they will be able to keep themselves healthy while having fun.
Please help me help my children and make an even bigger difference in their lives.
I'm sure that together we can defeat whatever the odds may be and introduce them to America's favorite pastime.
