Teacher Professional Development: I need a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 so I can expand my experience and use of technology in the classroom by incorporating Office 365 and OneNote. <profdevpilot>
I am trying to bring learning to life in my classroom by increasing interaction through the use of technology. I am always looking for new ways to make learning more interesting and to use technology as a tool to increase productivity and efficiency.
I have been teaching for over 18 years.
I have always tried to keep up with the shifts in education and curriculum and I have a passion for technology. I have had experience using a Promethean Activboard, classroom clickers, Android tablets, and iPads. I am always looking for new ways to incorporate technology as a learning tool for students to provide the best learning experience possible. This year, I have been looking for new ways for students to submit their work digitally to increase their interest and to allow for quicker and more meaningful feedback.
As chairperson of the technology committee, I also feel that it is my responsibility to keep up with educational technology trends so that I can lead our school in the right direction technologically. It is also my responsibility to pass on what I learn so that other teachers and students benefit from my experience.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (64 GB, Intel Core i3). Our district recently purchased Office 365. I have read many great things about using Office 365, especially OneNote, as a way for students to interact with each other and the teacher as they work on assignments and projects. This is something that is completely new to me. I would like to learn how to use OneNote Class Notebook to allow students to collaborate better, to turn in their work digitally, and to allow me to give immediate and meaningful feedback. In addition to using OneNote, I could also expand the use of other Office 365 products in my class giving me and my students more experience on applications that will be used in the workplace for years to come.
The Surface Pro 3 will empower me to give students a more interactive experience in my classroom and will provide important skills for their future.
As my experience with new applications and methods expands, so does the experience of my students. This device will revolutionize the way I teach and the way students learn because students will be able to submit their work from anywhere at any time, and I will be able to give them instant feedback which is so important in the learning process.
