Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As featured on the Ellen Show and inspiring many across the entire world, my middle school softball program is more than just a team but a family of sisters who encourage and support each other while enduring the struggles of inner-city life. They've shared their story detailing the courageous story of a team overcoming cancer and poverty. Softball has become a way of life, a means to escape the harsh reality of life and simply enjoy being a teen.
Honored by Ellen Degeneres, the NY Yankees, and NY Mets, my middle school softball program gives girls a reason to fight for their education.
My Project
Our softball team will make history as the first girl's team of our middle school that will take the competition by storm. We are 95 Storm and like a raging storm, we are going to defy expectations and completely demolish our opponents. However, we need uniforms to display our team spirit and dedication to our school. A uniform fosters team unity, which in turn can keep my girls motivated to succeed. It also creates solidarity between players.
Every girl part of 95 Storm, from the star players to the coaches, play an important role in the game.
Wearing identical uniforms creates a sense of equality, which is important when you are trying to win as a group. No individual is more important than any other, and that is what teamwork is all about.
There is a storm coming and with your help, 95 Storm will be victorious!
