Mr. Huggins from Conway SC is requesting a class trip through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need hotel rooms to stay in during our annual field trip to Washington, DC.

My students amaze me every single day. Each day, these students make a decision to push themselves and do better than the day before.
These students are inspiring, hard-working, and have a strong desire to learn.
Each day is a blessing in my classroom as I spend time with them helping them to become the best learners they can be. As they learn and grow, they become more interested in everything around them and how the world works. Their passion and desire to learn inspires me each day to be a better teacher. Oftentimes, they are teaching me just as much as I am teaching them. I love learning from them, and I want so much to continue to see them grow and learn more every day!
In June, we will be taking our 8th-grade students to Washington, DC to give them a chance to celebrate their hard work throughout the year as well as learn more about our nation's capital. Throughout the year, our students have pushed themselves to learn more about the world around them and how things in our country operate. This trip brings that to a culminating point that they will most likely never get again. Many of these students have never left the small town they live in much less the state of South Carolina. This trip will also give them a chance to experience culture in other places and meet new people outside of their hometown.
During this field trip, my students will get the chance to experience our government and nation's capital through a first-hand experience.
This trip will culminate a year's worth of learning in all of our subject areas. The students will get a chance to look at our government and how it works through tours of the capitol, tours of monuments, and tours of the Smithsonian Museums. Each of these experiences relates directly to instruction that our students have received this year as they will get to see things we have talked about and experience them in person.
