This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our 8th-grade class at is comprised of 63 students. Our middle school is a Title I school, and students come from all over New York, from as near as Bedford Stuyvesant, to as far as Canarsie and Staten Island. Our students have been preparing for success after graduating from middle school as they move on to high school. Now, we want to celebrate all of our hard work. After a year of rigorous classwork, we are now preparing for the end of the year activities, including a trip to Holiday Hill in Prospect, Connecticut.
To make this 8th grade trip to Holiday Hill a reality, we aim to raise funds to ensure that every student in the 8th-grade class can participate, and the entire grade has a fun-filled day.
My Project
After a rigorous year of learning, the end-of-the-year trip will give the 8th-grade students the opportunity to spend a day in Connecticut and take a break from school. The teachers and staff are excited to provide the students the opportunity to travel to another state, spend a fun day outdoors, enjoy each others' company, and celebrate their time as middle school students coming to an end.
To make this 8th-grade trip a reality, we are raising funds to help all students have the opportunity to partake in the trip.
On the trip, the 8th-grade students will have the opportunity to have a day of fun activities, including relay races, games, and a BBQ.
This trip is not geared toward education, but rather is a reward to the 8th graders for the immense amount of work they have put in over the course of the school year to become middle school graduates and move on to high school.
