Help me give my students graduation packages stuffed with school supplies, hand-written & laminated notes, candy, and fun extras that will help us make sure that they feel loved and rewarded for all their hard work.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Distance learning has changed so much for teachers and students across the country. I miss my students immensely. I worry about them daily. Do they have the supplies they need to learn? Have they eaten today? When is the last time someone hugged them?
I am thankful for the ways that I can connect with them like our Google Classroom page, Zoom calls, and emails/text messages; but this isn't enough.
Our 8th graders are energetic, enthusiastic, thoughtful, and excited about learning new things. Many of them have worked hard the entire year and are continuing to give their all in eLearning. We want to give them that extra bit of encouragement to push through to the end of the year and send them graduation packages so that they know they are loved and that we are proud of all that they have accomplished.
My Project
Being away from the classroom is so difficult! We have all started to realize that school is about more than just learning. Our school is a place where my students are taught, fed, cared for, and loved on a daily basis.
Helping my students to feel supported during these tough times through sending out promotion packages will go such a long way in encouraging them to continue their learning.
Since we can't have our 8th grade graduation like normal, I am hoping to send out hand-written notes using card-stock and lamination sheets, some school supplies, and some other goodies to my kids such as candy, bubbles, and fun erasers, so they know they are loved and we are proud of all they have accomplished!
