Our 8th grade is the best! My 8th graders come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Our school is a Title I school. We're a suburban community that pulls students from a wide range of neighborhoods.
My 8th graders are on the edge between childhood and adulthood; they are so ready to soar.
In middle school, each day brings them closer to discovering who they're going to be. Each day gives them an opportunity to grow into responsible, respectful adults.
My Project
8th grade is the final year of middle school. To celebrate their years at our Middle School, we hold an end of the year 8th grade play day. The students choose which games and activities they want to play, and rotate between games throughout the day. The station I run is all about yard games. I'm looking to update my yard game selection by incorporating Spikeball, Bocce Ball, and frisbees.
Kids love playing yard games with their friends outside.
I would love to introduce them to Spikeball and Bocce Ball, which are less commonly known with my students, and give them more frisbees to use. In addition to our 8th grade play day, I intend to bring these games outside to play on our Fun Fridays during homeroom when the weather is nice!
