My Students

In an area at the center of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy of 5 years ago, ourCounty is still rebuilding. Our teens were deeply effected by this event and could use some help in relearning what it means to be a teen.

Our student body here is a very close knit group.

We are 1300 kids from some very diverse backgrounds. Yet somehow, they manage to all work together to make this a really great school. Their goal is to make their school a model for other schools to aspire to.

My Project

The world is a tough place for teens. Especially in south Mississippi. There are so many dangers and pitfalls that lay before teens in this area. Teaching them the principles of the 7 habits, might give them a head start in avoiding the mistakes that many of their older brothers and sisters have made.

We are not just teaching here, we are trying to produce great students, thinkers and people.

We want all of our kids to be happy and successful. Textbooks and technology alone aren't going to be enough. We need supplemental to teach character and reinforce the good nature of people.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
