My students need to learn the habits that will make them successful students and people in the future. Many of the skills that are taught will help them gain the soft skills they will need.

My Students

Our school is the #2 most diverse elementary school in the area. We represent over 30 languages, several in my classroom. We are title 1, and are with our school offering free lunch and breakfast to 100% of students.

We are planning on teaching students in 6th grade the 7 habits of the highly effective teen.

We have 76 students moving in to 6th grade, and these habits, along with social emotional learning is a struggle in our school. The 6th grade team would love to do a book study, and integrate this book in to our weekly meetings. Along with Mindful Education and meditation we think this would be a great addition to our culture.

My Project

Our students are often lacking soft skills, and social emotional learning that help them as they move through school. We are starting a town hall meeting where students will be using the 7 habits workbooks as a novel study and learn to apply these skills to their learning.

Students who come from low income homes often are lacking the habits and study skills to make them successful students.

They find themselves behind the curve already because they do not have the skills to build healthy habits.

We are trying to change the culture of our school, and teach our students how to be successful students, and enjoy school.
