Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will enrich our 6th grade science curriculum and classroom by giving our students the opportunity to work together to problem solve, explore, and create through hands-on learning. All of the kits requested bring complex concepts, such as, fluid dynamics, mechanics, physics, Newton's Laws, structural engineering, and robotics, into clear and simple focus for growing minds. Students will be able to learn about new standards through engaging exploration.

Giving our students the opportunity to collaborate, creatively, is such an integral piece in both their academic and social emotional learning.

Students are relishing their time working together and creating, with hands-on manipulatives. Due to COVID 19, our students spent many months home, online, and hybrid. During this time, they missed out on working in teams and partnerships to solve problems and create projects. Giving them the time and space to be together in an academic setting has been so rewarding to watch. Our students thrive when being allowed to collaborate and practice critical thinking. If this project is funded, it will reach over 120 6th graders, eager to explore, imagine, build, create, problem solve, and stretch their brains, through science, technology, engineering, and math.
