I have a fantastic groups of second graders. I have twenty-four students in my classroom. My students enjoy hands-on learning, STEM activities, reading, playing math games, using their Chromebooks and being able to move their bodies while learning.
My students have helped me create a twenty-first century classroom equipped with one-to-one Chromebooks, iPads, flexible tables and hands-on learning opportunities.
My students are eager to try new things and explore the world unknown.
I would like to add 6 Flex-Space balance balls to my 2nd grade classroom. I want to create a ball chair station for reader's workshop. Several of my students do not enjoy reading in a traditional chair or on the floor. I truly believe that if they had balls to sit on they would be able to pay more attention versus sitting in traditional chairs.
I am excited to hopefully try Flex-Space balance balls to increase student attention and focus while working and reading at their table spots.
I have found students like the ball over a handful of other seating options. This allows students to move and wiggle as they read. The ones I previously had were too big for my second graders. We are also doing standardized testing this year in my classroom and I would love to have these as an option for selected students.
