What I love about my students is they think that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. They have an answer for every problem and I love to challenge them! I love their determination and willingness to help each other, and the fact that they cheer each other on.
I want them to see the world of technology that is out there and learn what they can do with it.
My class is small, with lots of close friendships in a small rural town. Some of them cannot even picture some of the things that are/can be done with technology. Some have never been to places where new technology is used or displayed.
I want them to see the world of technology that is out there and learn to use it to help others and themselves. I think that if we give them the tools, they are the type of kids that have dreams and imagination, and will do amazing things with them!
My Project
Students are enamored with anything they can do with their hands or on a computer. They catch on to technology so much quicker at their age so why not introduce them to all of it that we can?
I want to give them as many opportunities in technology as I can to give them an advantage in life!
You never know when a particular set of skills may come in handy. They are using technology more than we know, so let's direct them and open a whole new world of possibilities with a new piece of technology.
Students will be able to use this 3D printer to make their plans a reality. We do a lot of book projects in my room and it could be used for some of these, for instance in a diorama. I know that we could also use this to make manipulatives and models for math. The possibilities are endless. I am hoping that with this 3D printer, their creativity will flourish and they will learn new things and even teach each other.
