Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are learning from home as best as they can. All of them access distance learning in a variety of ways: cell phones, tablets borrowed from family, and technology provided by the district. They also love to have a book in their hands and I'd like to make that happen.

My Project

WIth the end of year approaching and no end in sight for distance learning, I thought I'd provide a fun end of year gift for my students that is also inspirational and educational.

This is their last year in fifth grade and I'd love to give a memorable gift.

The book I chose contains a variety of short stories that I feel will appeal to all my scholars - it contains stories that will be useful for them as they enter the next stage of their school careers. It’s a book we can read together and explore different themes and life lessons which is something that is difficult to grasp without a variety of texts.
