My fifth graders have come to my classroom from all around the world. Students have come to our district from over 60 different counties and speak over 70 different languages!
They are extremely curious and ready to learn!
I have an amazing group of 27 excited fifth graders with very diverse learning needs - from students with special needs to English language learners, gifted students, and everything in between. My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds- ethnically, socioeconomically, and geographically.
These materials will allow my students to bring their writing to life in the form of a published magazine! My students will be researching an animal of their choosing, then writing about their chosen animals in the three types of writing (narrative, opinion, informative).
With a binding machine, binding spines, cover sheet, and card stock paper, my students will feel a sense of ownership as they publish their work in the form of a magazine to take home.
We will use the card stock and cover sheets to create magazine covers that will last and be durable over time. This professional document will be a special keepsake for my students as they continue to grow as writers!
