5th Grade Project Based Learning Project - Narrative Books
Help me give my students materials they'll need to create 5th grade fictional narrative books. Our class will need a heavy duty stapler, colored paper, pencils, and duck tape to bind the books.
My 5th grade students come from many different backgrounds, but they're all excited about their futures and understand that reading and writing are the essential skills they'll need to be successful in life. They are willing to engage in rigorous learning and understand I have high expectations for each of them. I'm proud to say they're rising to these expectations!
Please help my little authors develop their writing and collaboration skills this year.
They've worked hard this year and deserve the opportunity to use their writing skills to create their own narratives.
My Project
Each year, my 5th-grade literacy class work through the writing process and publishing process to write their own narratives and creates class books to sell throughout our school. This project-based learning project allows students to work collaboratively toward the same goal, but they're able to use their own special skills throughout the project (art, advertisement, bookbinding).
This project-based project is always a student favorite.
It helps them work together and build on skills outside of writing, like creating books and marketing. The materials my students need to successfully complete this project are for bookbinding (duck tape, staples, page protectors) and copying materials.
