Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a business academy in the inner city. Most have dreams of owning their own businesses, or working within a larger business. Many are part of co-curricular business clubs, or work in our student-run school store. Most of them also have part-time jobs, and many help their families financially. They are not only hard-working, but also some of the kindest and most generous young people I have met. Many of them have overcome extraordinary challenges, yet continue to find ways to give back in their school and community.

My Project

Fifty of my students will be exposed to something totally new and different than they have been exposed to before. Many have never been to a professional sports arena, met with business professionals, or attended a professional sporting event. These students will have the opportunity to tour Metlife stadium, and meet with a variety of professionals that work within the Jets organization.

This field trip will give students exposure into many new careers, opportunities, and will also allow them to see a professional football game later in the year.

While this trip is amazing, it is not something that is affordable to my students without the help of donations.
