My students need STEAM materials to harness their creativity and collaboration. We also need storage drawers to organize the materials for easy, daily access.
My fourth grade classroom is full of energy, excitement, and a genuine love of life and learning. We spend our school days with lots of collaboration, project based learning, and creative thinking. Students work hard for seven hours a day to push themselves to improve academically, and also as people. We have many different learning styles in our room, many different levels, and many different backgrounds -- but one thing that is common among all of us is an abundance of positive energy, kindness, and determination.
My students inspire me every day, by bringing out the best in each other and the best in me, and it's my mission to provide the most meaningful 4th grade year that I can for them.
I learn so much from them as I watch them celebrate each other's achievements and recognize each other's amazing qualities. They are truly the future of our world, and they deserve a classroom that caters to their cultures, learning styles and our 21st century world!
My Project
My goal is to help students develop a strong foundation of skills. Students need the opportunity to be creative, and to bring their imagination and ideas to life. They need the opportunity to engineer -- to build, evaluate, improve, and re-build. They need the opportunity to collaborate as teams on projects with a goal in mind.
All students need daily access to STEAM materials to practice creativity and innovation.
My goal is to have these materials available to students during morning work time. They will come in, and get ready for the school day ahead by creating things from their imagination. They will work together, develop relationships with their peers, and engage in a hands-on learning experience all within the first 30 minutes of their day. Not only will it increase their collaboration and STEAM skills, but it will also start our day on a positive note. I will also integrate these materials throughout the day as well.
The materials I am requesting include a variety of STEAM and engineering activities for students. Students will use the construction sets to design and build creations. The various types of building supplies offered in the products below will give students the opportunity to design, build, rebuild, and problem solve with building sets that have different characteristics. They will be exposed to magnetic building blocks, straw connectors, mazes, gears, magnetic tiles, and K'Nex. These different items will help them "think outside of the box" and practice using creativity. The storage drawer will allow for easy, organized access to the materials so kids can work at their own pace to express themselves.
