My students need to the learn 4th grade science Common Core Standards using as many hands on projects as they can. They learn best touching and seeing instead of just reading about it or watching videos. We need fossil kits and Snap Circuits.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The school in which I work is a poverty level school in inner city Cleveland. My students are smart but do not always know how to show it during testing, Sometimes they need more than just a paper/pencil test to shine.
My Fourth Graders would like you to help them shine by getting them some materials they can work with to get hands-on experiences.
They need you to get them electricity kits and more that will give them the activities they will need to succeed.
My Project
These materials will give my students a chance to use their minds to create science experiments and see first hand what happens when they actually touch and see what happens. They need to actually see how you have to create a complete circuit to get the light bulb to work. They need to see that electricity does not just come from the wall.
My students love to get their hands dirty instead of just reading, due to their different abilities in school.
They want to learn. They want to do well. Please help them to do well in school. These are wonderful kids who just want to do their best and need to use more hands on materials in order to succeed in school.
