I teach in Aurora, CO. Our school could really benefit from some financial help. We are a Title I school. Students would be so appreciative if you could help provide them with tools that will further their learning.
The students at our school are one of a kind.
Every year, I learn to love a different group of kids, but every year, my classes have one thing in common, they are there to learn and grow. If the following items were funded, these kids would be able to grow and learn far beyond what I can financially can provide for them.
My Project
These books will provide students with rich, authentic, engaging texts in our classroom library. The classroom library is a place where students will "book shop" every week in order to choose books that they can read independently and learn to love reading.
Every book that is placed in our library is treated with love and care while being read by students.
All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.
I am currently moving to a different school that is Title I in the Cherry Creek School District. My background is teaching primary grades, so my library is in need of some upper, intermediate grade level text!
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of text that will allow them to read independently at their own level. Students will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow as a reader. If this project is funded, it will provide so much joy to my students!
