Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

How often did you play board games in school? And no, you can't pretend it was always rainy day recess! For my low-income fourth grade students, board games don't happen often. When it does, they are extremely excited and focused on their game.

As it stands, my class has very little terms of engaging reinforcement for specific language arts skills. The board games I am requesting are very precise and are loved by the students. I have borrowed them on occasion from another teacher and my students greatly enjoy them. They range from topics such as "cause and effect" and "context clues" to "fact and opinion" and "inference". These are skills that are practiced across the grade levels, but are tested in fourth grade.

In order for our students to grow in their reading comprehension as well as their own personal writing, they need further reinforcement beyond rote practice. These games are a fantastic alternative. This particular game set is geared towards a mid-third grade level to a fifth grade level. It is the perfect age range for my students.

Your support will be greatly appreciated! My students deserve the very best, whether they are blessed by monetary fortune or not! I want to show them how much they mean to me and how much their education means to everyone! Please help me share with them all that will help them succeed!
