This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What makes my students special? They are special because all their differences make our classroom unique. We have been in school about two and half months and they show me daily how eager they are to learn and reach the goals they have set for themselves. Each day they come in with smiles on their faces. It warms my heart to see their desire to learn.
My students are beyond amazing.
My school is a Title I school. Therefore, some of my students may enter my classroom not fully equipped with all the materials they need. Each day my kids find a way to put a smile on my face because, regardless of their home situation, they come motivated for a new learning day. I couldn't have asked for a better class.
My Project
The students in my class enjoy getting various snacks from the class store. They are able to redeem their points to which they earn throughout the week using our PBIS system. They are allowed to shop at my store twice a week. However, we are running low on snacks for them to purchase. If students don’t have enough points to purchase something, they can either buy something else or save their points and earn more the following week so they can purchase their product at a later date.
Students earn points by showing RISE behaviors (respect, integrity, safety and empathy).
They are able to earn multiple points daily when demonstrating positive behavior.
My product list includes a variety of snacks for the students to choose from. Students can choose chips, cookies, or candy among other items in my store.
