My students are very enthusiastic about science and technology. They are a bright group of learners.
My students are engaged and ready to learn.
My school is a Title 1 school. I have a range of students who need extra help to students that are advanced.
My fourth graders love to work together and collaborate with other students. They are very excited about learning about engineering, science, and technology. They are always asking when are we going to do our next science experiment.
My Project
My fourth graders love technology and learning skills. However, they need access to more computers/tablets.
I would like to extend their depth of learning by having my students create their own movies.
They will take History and Literature and bring them to life. This will create meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
My students will plan and develop their own Book Commercials to share their enthusiasm for their favorite book. They will create movie trailers and shorts to share their knowledge of content. Having access to an iPad and iMovie software will give them the opportunity to be creative and use technology for hands on learning.
This project will give my students the opportunity to extend their learning behind just reading and writing.
They will use the iPad camera and recorder to film their own movies. Students will research, write, design, and develop their own scenes. They will be encouraged to create mini sets and wear costumes to make this even more creative. Students will use the iMovie application to edit, add text, music, and other features to complete their movie. They can re-create historical moments. Students can become a newscaster and discuss current events. They can also create scenes from books. They can also use the iPad to record experiments.
This project will use technology across curriculum content!
