My Students

My students are full of energy, ideas, and words. They love sharing, talking, standing, dancing, and learning.

Our school is in a rural area, but services urban students, who often live in poverty.

We are a Title I school servicing a high population of special education students. My students love learning, but need a lot of additional support, and resources to help them reach their goals every day. My students could benefit from non-traditional learning experiences provided by makerspace materials!

My Project

In 4th grade, we learn about the beginning of human anatomy by learning about how our eyes work, and how we see light. Being able to dissect a cow eye is a highlight of all 4th graders at my school. Unfortunately, we have no budget for our science program, so in order to keep this tradition going, I am seeking help. This project will allow my students to have hands on access to Cow Eyes for dissection purposes, the tools needed to safely have a dissection lab, and the mats that show them the proper process and parts of the eye to look for!
