Four year old kindergarteners are some of the funniest, most out-spoken individuals. They come to school and talk about what they love, create the most amazing things, and use their imaginations in ways that you would never think of.
My students want to learn and are so excited to be at school.
They work and play hard, which is great because play is the best way for small children to learn. I am amazed each year with how much my students have grown through out the year.
My Project
The Fire tablets I am asking for will help my kids learn at home and at school. I plan to use two-four of them to set up center for my students to use while they are explore time at school. I am planning to set up a check out system using the rest of the tablets to use at home. More than half of my students are on free or reduced lunch. So many of them don't have access to educational materials that are available through Amazon Free Time Unlimited. Using the parents controls I will be able to set up each unit to better fit the child that each tablet would being going home with.
When planning lessons or activities I have to keep in mind what my school district goals are for 4K.
The games and books available through Free Unlimited will help me with many of the academic goals. In math, apps will help with objectives in numeral identification, counting with one correspondence, patterning, and more. In the literacy, students get practice with letter and sound identification, retelling stories (with a familiar book), and some of the concepts of print (where to star, which way to go, etc). The check out system part of my plan will give my students more opportunities to practice skills I have taught in the classroom.
