This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Be like a stamp and have enough adhesive to stick to your destination." - unknown. Help me be a stamp for my students. I have 13 human anatomy and physiology textbooks for 50 students. Teaching such a visual class with three students per books can no longer be acceptable.

It is my first year at this high school and my classes are filled with students who want to learn but, we don't have the proper materials.

Although, my students do not let the fact that there are only 13 textbooks deter them from learning. They are very competitive and determined to graduate high school and go on to college. The last part of our school creed states, "Please teach me. I want to learn. Because I am the future." Our high school is very unique and my students are the best. The setting is one-of-a-kind. I truly believe it is the best of both worlds. The school setting is rural but, urban. We are apart of one of the largest districts in our state, a Title 1 school, but, we are located in the middle of nowhere.

My Project

I am requesting 26 Gray's Anatomy textbooks for human anatomy and physiology classes. These 26 books will allow us to have a classroom set of textbooks. These Gray's Anatomy textbooks will provide my students with detailed visual aids, which is a necessity for my future RNs, MDs, and PhDs to have. My students would learn so much more with the assistance of textbooks. I would be able to cover more material with additional textbooks. These additional textbooks will be used are a classroom set. This would reduce the student sharing, three students to a book. It would allow us not to skip the skeletal system unit, muscular system unit, cardiovascular system unit, and the reproductive system unit. We could further our learning in human anatomy and physiology.

Human anatomy and physiology in high school is mostly a visual learning process.

With three students sharing one book and trying to follow the teacher through lecture is very hard and frustrating for my students and me. Donations to our cause would further my students learning process and not deter them away from the science fields because their background knowledge is lacking. Please help my classes continue their education process because they are our future.
