Mrs. Shields from Youngstown OH is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students essential supplies (pencils, paper, markers) that I can not provide for them based on my supply budget. The class set of books is one the students have requested to read and we do not have.

The students I teach have various backgrounds both culturally and educationally. Each of my students will bring their own unique talents and interests into our learning environment. I strive to inspire my students to develop a love for literature and writing.
The 5th graders at my school are rambunctious, curious, and creative children.
They give their best efforts when they feel safe and secure in their learning environments
This year we are going to harness their interests and strengths to challenge them academically and expand their minds. The effort that the students put forth on a daily basis is what makes them such a special group of children.
In order to have a functioning classroom we must have supplies that allow students to function. Pencils, pencil sharpeners and paper are the most basic supplies that we need to replenish. The students are working so hard that we are going through these supplies quickly. The markers make our world a more colorful place and as we color our school with a variety of book projects, new markers will continue to brighten our halls and classroom and we brighten our brains with the the light of education. Finally, books allow us to learn and explore, all these supplies will help us on our educational journey and brighten our world.
